I had to drop it off and wait three weeks for it to return, then go down and pick it up again and a couple months later it was broken again. I repeated that process three times in the warranty period. Noone at the service/warranty center could tell me what I could do to get a replacement. I was simply told, if it breaks again, bring it back and they'll fix it again.
I've bought most of my household electronics/appliances from Sears because I expected warranty coverage would be good with them. I'm just glad I don't have problems with the 36" WEGA because there's no way in hell I'm gonna be able to take that to the warranty center in Salt Lake.
It could be that I talked to a couple of boneheads that day who didn't know WTF they were talking about. If that's true, that's really gonna **** me off because I went through a lot of wasted time and hassle, spent a lot of money on that DVD player, and it's fully crapped out.
Can you shed some light on that? I doubt there's anything I can do now about it since it's past warranty and I bought it over two years ago. I've spent a hell of a lot of money there. I never thought I'd ever have this kind of problem with Sears.

errr, but back to topic, most of my Sony stuff is excellent, LOL.
Just not the DVD players. We have a new one in the shop that is starting to act up too. It freezes alot. I dunno why the hell we didn't buy a Panasonic after knowing the problems I had with my own personal DVD players.

I see, it all depends on who you talked to. Ala Moana, for all I know, is more liberal. Next time just bring it in and say it broke and you want a refund, they're not gonna give you the service center bs
speaking of Sony...
I want an Aibo, its like only 1200 now.

I really wanted to keep a Sony DVD player (that works!) for use with my WEGA TVs so I can use just one remote for everything. Having the Panasonic, altho it works great, is a hassle now. I don't like the remote and the unit itself is not so user friendly - but it reads all my discs and that's the main thing I guess. My Sony player just spits out a dirty disc code and refuses to play everytime I pop a DVD in, even if it's brand spanking new. I dunno whether to pay to fix it somewhere or just throw the damned thing away.
Thanks for the tip dude. Those guys at Pearlridge really pissed me off. If I buy anything else from Sears it will definitely be from the Ala Moana location.

if your talking about the best return policy, costco has the best in the world! i've seen people return a grill they bought three years ago and get all their money back because the damn thing is rusting, how is that for a return policy? if one costco doesnt accept it, go to another one, so far i know that the hawaii kai costco is the most leanest one, they will take anytyhing back, in fact, one time we took back coffee from sams club! believe me, anything you buy from costco, can be returned, except the computers there, after 6 months you gotta bring it to the manufactuer, but before 6 months, you can return it with no problem!

For their price, the P9/P7's(which are discontinued) are cameras who are not worth its price. Sure theres alot of Sony ******, esp in Hawaii but reason I think they are teh suck is because of their quality and their lenses. Their indoor quality is way too soft and washed out. The only cameras that are worth it in the Sony range are the 700+ ones with the Carl Zeiss lenses,
For the same price range, the P9(which is 4mp) will get trampled on by the Canon G4, and from my experience doesn't even create a vivid photo like Nikon ones with Nikkor lenses or even the Canon S400 Digital Elph which were considerably lower than the P9 in terms of price.

i don't like sony...i think their stuff is, on the most part, subpar in quality.
also, nakamichi is made by sony, right? if that's the case, you can chalk up another complaint for them. i've had various nakamichi products go out on me....safe to say that i will not be buying nak again!
camera-wise, i'm going with canon. stereo receiver-wise, i'll be trying out marantz or even harmon kardon for lack of better choices. tv-wise, i'm getting a mitsubishi soon.
