How much Sony stuff do you own?
I just bought a Vaio notebook, and realized: I own a LOT of Sony stuff.
Here's the rundown:
Camera (DSC-U20)
Video Camera (DCR-IP5)
Vaio Notebook
VEGA 32" TV
5-disc DVD player
MD player
MD player, portable
Stereo Receiver
Clock Radio
TV Stand
17" Monitor (wife's computer)
edit: Playstation 2 (thanks Dan)
edit: Walkman
edit: Satellite speaker system
...and counting
There may be more. How about you?

Too much. I used to love Sony stuff, but some products I purchased recently like home theater receivers, and a DVD player have broken. I think their quality is not as good as it was in the past. I will still consider their products when buying electronics, but they lost some of my faith. It's a shame too... I have had a lot of great sony products in the past. Anyone else had problems with their sony products?
I agree....I'm not happy with Sony quality. I have a 53" rear projection Sony and the green color card blew one month out of warranty. I asked for them to help cover the costs of replacement and they would not even give me a dime. The TV now displays all types of written information which I cannot turn off. The TV is 4 years old. I will not consider Sony when I choose to go flat/plasma in a couple of years.
I also have a Sony DVD player that freezes up from time to time. I upgraded to a pioneer elite DVD player and vowed I'd never buy Sony again.

About 4 years ago I had the same issues with JVC. I had a $600 receiver crap out, a TV stop working, A DVD player stop working, and a CD player stop working. I also had issues with a VCR that got repaired. I have had a couple issues with my receiver (Sony) but that is it. Everything else has been working perfectly.

2 DVD players
a bunch of old CD players that still work pretty good
an old walkman cassette player from highschool that still works
an old 10 disc changer that I've had in 3 cars and still works
Everything I have from Sony is great, EXCEPT the DVD players. I've bought one from Sears, a slim model (forget offhand which model it is, but I paid almost $400 for it a couple years ago when it was new) that started freezing up even on brand new discs after 4 months of use. I brought it back to Sears for warranty coverage for the same problem three times... the last time I took it in 2 months before the expiration of the warranty and asked if we could just get the damned thing replaced because I didn't want to be stuck with it if it broke a 4th time and out of warranty coverage. They said no, so they fixed it and it broke 4 months after the warranty expired. Same problem. It's collecting dust now and I've replaced it with a Panasonic that I bought from Daiei. The other Sony DVD player I have I bought from Shirokiya, and altho it doesn't have as MUCH problems as the other one, it's extremely finicky about the discs it will play. It freezes up alot too, but still works... kinda. I watch DVDs mostly on the bigger TV so I don't care too much.
Sears' warranty policy leaves much to be desired tho and sure didn't help matters. Daiei just replaces anything that is found defective.
I like the TV's, HATE the DVD players. Everyone else I know seems to like Panasonic better, and I think I'll be buying more Panasonic from now on.

wow, I love Sony products and haven't had one problem with anything, .... even after I've 'modified' some of them.

mavica fd88 (one of the Originals and still going strong!
)
32" tv
DVD
VCR
cd walkman
alarm
i know there's more but I can't think of any right now. all the past products i owned that i got rid of were great too.
and I like the new digi cams they have too, like the P7 and P9. What's wrong with those??
Everytime we use them the pics come out good, plus the camera is small!
