haha, dude! I used to live out in the boonies here in California and I was walking my dog one day down the road. I come around a corner and there is a tarantula about 15 feet away just cruisin down the center of the road. Even though it was 15 feet away, I still jumped when I first saw it

When it got closer I played with it with the end of my dog's leash.

we may not have those big *** spiders but we do have giant centipedes here. The same type that eat mice and other things that live in our sewers

**** that!!!! I would kill it ASAP. If it got away, I wouldn't be able to sleep in my own home for months...Although, I did hear if you catch a centipede that big alive, you can get alot of money for it at the UH Labs in manoa.

yup if you find one that big or bigger (they do get bigger) UH research facility will pay top dollar for it or that's what I've heard. Also, if you can find a LIVE termite queen they pay top dollar for that as well. They are usually pretty far underground and at the center of the termite colony.

Damn Dave! That's freakin' nuts!!!

Back in the day when I had my Corolla, *sigh* I was driving through Ala Moana SC by Sears and something plopped down on my windshield. I looked over and it was a big brown spider. I wasn't sure if it was a cane spider or a wolf spider but it scared the hell outa me when I saw it. Anyways, there were two cowl vents that led into my car for the fresh air... Now being that my car was from 1973 there was no screen in the cowl to filter out any debris. Damn spider went right for one of the vents. I immediately pulled over into the first available stall and started hunting for that damn thing! I know that I wouldn't be able to drive my car until it was dead or gone. I wasn't able to find it though so I went straight to Long's and pick up a box of fumigators. After spending about 5 hours at the mall waiting for it to be done and another 2 hours of airing out my car, there was no spider to be found. I was ready to tear the interior apart to find it but I figured that it wouldn't have survived through the fumigation. I could just imagine what would have happened if I didn't see the spider when it landed and it ended up crawling on me while I was driving. I think I would have ended up on the 6:00 news that night. "Serious car crash caused by huge spider."
