Help connecting AP to computer

Question Help connecting AP to computer

has any of you had trouble connecting your accessport v1 to your computer because it uses a 9pin serial port that i think computer don't come with anymore LOL... so i bought a serial to usb adapter from radioshack but it won't read the AP when i plug it in... if someone knows another way or has used an adapter and was successful what brand did you buy? i really want to get it on my car already help much appreciated thx for looking

did you install the driver for the adapter?

yeah funny thing is the every time i plug in the wire again it prompts me to install the driver again. i think i might have the wrong adapter idk?

If you are using Vista.. right click the icon and tell it to run in an older mode.. like 2000 or XP

hey you might wanna try installing the updated cobb software too.. thats available at www.cobbtuning.com

not sure how this will come to play, but a regular serial to computer will not work... you might need a NUL apadter from the serial to the comp... i had the same problem when i lost my cable. try to purchase it from ala moana radio shack. then try the serial to NUL to usb.

wow it shouldnt be that complicated! hopefully it syncs up with the drivers and correct adapter...

thats what i tot... but i contacted cobb directly and they told me about the NUL adapter. idk, just passing on some possibilities... i still got mine lying around somewhere... i'll pm you if i find it tomorrow if i look for it.

1:35am i got it to work! :RockOn - not mine: LOL thx for help guys it turned out to be the accessport software needed to be updated the disc wasn't enough hehe thx plenty!
