well i was on my way home from ala moana driving on the freeway using cruise control then all of a sudden i felt my car starting to slow down and i looked i seen my check engine light is on and at the same time the cruise control light is blinking. what can be the problem? need help. any suggestions on what it could be?:

 

hard to tell but if you can get hold of an OBD scanner, it will tell you what's wrong on spot. could be a lot of things na mean?

 

I've encountered the same problum. In my case, I threw a "P0171 -System too lean" code (To much spirited driving, and short shifting...15mins later the code popped up). When a code is thrown, it disables your cruise control making it temporary inoperable untill the code is removed. Which would explane why your car began to slow down. The cruise control light flashing, and check engine light remaining on, is just a way the car indacates to the driver that a code has been tripped. If you are currently using a Accessport, just plug it in. Remove the codes, and reflash your real time map. If your not using an accessport, plug in a diagnostic OBD scanner, like HISTATEOFMIND suggested, and remove the code.
