Equal length for me...I don't miss the rumble at all...I actually like the "Porsche on Steroids" sound that the EL Header help to make on our cars...

I've owned

04 STI...
GT Spec UEL Header with 3bolt flange proprietary up-pipe
APS EL header with Velocity Stack Up-pipe
05 STI...
Perrin EL Header and APS cast iron up-pipe
06 WRX...
back to APS EL header with Velocity Stack Up-pipe

Each of the cars made great power with the addition of the EL header...I really like the APS header design 4-2-1...Perrin worked great also. Several members are running the Fujitsubo...nice!

Yeah, that will be a nice setup Lorenzo...good gains...

It will be interesting to see the power our cars make at the March PDX Tune...your's with an FPRed and mine with an FPGreen...similar engines and aftermarket mods...even the PPG gears!

^^^Thatʻs what I like to hear! Good things about the Perrin EL.
I wonder how it is going to sound with my TRUST DD exhaust.

from what i remember browsing through a Tomei catalog, i believe that the UEL headers provided just-slightly-better peak torque and at a slightly earlier RPM, whereas the EL headers provided better HP.

maybe if someone has Tomei's advertisement imaged, they can post it.

and, as others have mentioned, the sound difference...

Believe me...the Trust exhaust sounds awesome with the the Perrin Header...I know, I had it on an 05STI...unlike any exhaust I've heard. The only issue is that at a certain RPM range, it resonates and seems soo loud that your ears kind of feel like they are ringing...eh...minor details. Awesome Exhaust!

Yeah one of the resonators are irritating. It's the rear one. It gives off a cracking noise.

Hmmm...no cracking sound when I had it...not sure. Did something come loose in the rear resonator?

I couldnt imagine a UEL choppy airflow helping a turbo spin at any RPM. You have different temperatures of air coming together creating turbulance.

The UEL only thing it will help...is help you get pulled over.
