Hawaii vacation - help me pick an island!
Hey guys,
Can you help me out with some recommendations? My parents are about to book a vacation (looking for sometime this August), and I'm not sure which island to recommend them. I've been at Oahu twice before a few years back, but no other island. I liked Honolulu, but thinking it might be a little crowded for their laid-back vacation. I would appreciate any comments and suggestions…
Never posted at HIIC before – I’m from SF Bay, CA – sorta lurking in the BAIC forums… but I-club has proved to be a great resource in the past, so I’ll hope for the best
Thanks in advance for all replies

From Volcano Watch, June 3, 2004: Eruptive activity at Kilauea continues. The Banana flow, which breaks out of the Mother's Day lava tube a short distance above Pulama pali, made it to the coastal flat

yup, im with the Big Island Guys. I'm biased cause I live here but this place just has so many things to offer. Make sure that you have at least a week planned for your vacation cause you'll need it. The district of Ka'u is as big as Oahu!

I like Kauai for a relaxing laid back vacation, but only for a day or two. If you want to spend more time on a neighbor island then the Big Island is the one to go see. Lot more things to see and do.

Maybe I'd be easier to send you some from CA... And btw, it's my parents who are going - so the final decision is up to them... I'm just trying to help them with some info...
Thanks for the input - interesting how everyone is leaning towards the Big Island... Any more comments?
