Hawaii Group Buy on Primitive Skidplates

Hi Guys! I talked to Paul Eklund over the phone today about possibly holding a group buy on his skid plates. He says he may be able to give us a small discount on the plates themselves, but is thinking we would see most of our savings in shipping cost. As a reference, he quoted me $212.14 for just the front plate w/ no hole, and $302.80 for the same front and the full rear plate shipped. Shipping is via USPS. You can check out his website at www.get-primitive.com for more information and base pricing, and you can also give him a call at (503) 624-2139 if you have more questions. Group buy pricing and group shipping costs are still uncertain, but if you'd be willing to pay full price then why not save a little!

If we go through with it, he would like to do one order, one payment, shipped to one location. For now we'd just like to gauge interest so please post up what you want! Be sure to include as much information as possible for me to forward to him, including the vehicle and version of the plate(s) and any options. I also learned they do make some hybrid plates as well if, for example, you have a WRX swap in your GC

I'd like to follow up with him on Oct. 3rd with the kind of interest we have so please spread the word and let's try to finalize a list by then.

Thanks for looking! Here is his information again for quick reference. Also, I believe he is located in Oregon so keep the time difference in mind if you plan to make a call or are waiting for an email reply.

UPDATE 10/1

Here are some numbers based on our current list of 5 orders:
5 plates/combos = 10% off listed price
4 plates/combos = 8% off listed price
3 plates/combos = 5% off listed price
2 plates/combos = 2% off listed price

Shipping the current list was roughly estimated at ~$185 which means:
~$35/front plate
~$45/combo

You can see his actual reply here.

You may also want to check into this place. Not sure if this is anything new, but I spoke to an Ebay vendor that said they use this company: http://www.approvedforwarders.com/. as they specialize is shipping to Hawaii and Guam. From the quote that the vendor gave me, they seem to be pretty affordable from Cali to Hawaii. But, since Primitive is in Oregon, not sure if it will save any addt'l money. Just a thought.

I was gonna make my own, but it's kind of a pain! easier to just buy the ready made ones

I am personally prepared to pay full price since we have no idea at this point. If we can at least save by shipping a bunch together I'll be more than happy :P

I am interested in the 1/8 full body armor kit for 2004 STi; but KrIsToY made a good point about the rear plate. Also, would it come with new bolts or whathaveyou to mount?

ok maybe 3/8" is overkill, 1/8" kit perhaps...
