Guess he changed his mind?
I guess another Stage 4 bit the dust and needed a heart transplant. Not a bad way to go though! Woohoo!

2.4 Block in!
11 June, 2003
This damn mod section is getting more frequent lately... and that's a bit scary.
I want to thank I-Speed (http://www.i-speed.us) for hooking up this motor.. I really needed it badly because mine was about to blow!
So here we are... 3 days after the implant! what implant? the 2.4L closed deck blocked.
No, no dyno charts yet. I want everything that NEEDs to be in there.
Right now we have the following installs besides the block:
APS SR40
APS Top Mount Intercooler
2.5" Scooby Sport Turbo Back
Ecutek Map
Perrin Intake
STI Injectors
Walbro Pump

First Day Impression:
Not bad. definately more torque... duh!
pulls a lot harder down low... now we just have to get the right parts in there.
right now its just as fast as a stock new BMW M3 up top... and we were also pretty even from pulling down low.
and I ran fast freddie... who is fast freddie... some crazy bastard in the south bay... his car mauls!... it mauled my car yesterday.... I wanted to find out how slow my car is... and i got what i wanted. No, it didn't feel good at all... but its a benchmark. freddie's ride is pretty dialed in right now... I just have to get to that point. I figure about a month and i should be done w/ the engine.
What's next:
3" turbo back.... i'll be at gruppe-s this afternoon, they said they have a replica cusco downpipe that they want to fit... but I still need a mid/cat back that 3"... so we wait.
tmic or fmic? right now we have the tmic on... i like how the torque pulls the car right to the boost... remember... I still need this car for autoxing and track... so its not meant for brute highway power but a balance between the two. in short... at least for now... i'm holding off on the fmic.
sr40... good? bad? ugly? we don't know yet. I have to get the proper exhaust system in there first.... get more street tuning then after that we'll see if that's the right turbo for me.
Ecutek remap. Its good. definately 'smoother' than the Possum Link ECU.... not that smoother is better... but I guess for daily driver folks its fine. to me either way will work... LINK just feels like it has more raw power to it... maybe because it jolts the crap out of you when it gets into power.
I wish i can just follow someone who's already done this... if you now anyone... let me know!
so this is how it has been explained to me... why a 2.4 will have more power than a 2.0 engine...
So, to fast freddie... "we've only just began!!" BUHAHAHA
so now we wait again... for the next installment...
Happy Racing!
