Great Information for 2015 STi Owners
Jeff Perrin from Perrin Performance has a nice running blog that has plenty of goodies about the new 2015 STi (and how they discovered that it's running 20 more WHP than previous years)!
A great read if you have the time to go through it all.

Some are (-_-) about it but I am just as happy as you are with this model year, on top of the improved handling.

It's that extra 20WHP after 4500RPM. I'm kind of excited to get a V3 start my journey into the world of modifications.
Even Motor Trend is claiming a 0-60 of 4.6 seconds. That's just insane! Especially considering when Subaru released the car, they claimed the extra 60lbs would increase the 0-60 time from 4.9 to 5.1 seconds. Skip to about 4:50.
You going to be at the meet tomorrow night, Joe?

This is pre-Cobb stage 1. I see 17.9psi alot and it happens at peak torque, which is good and bad. Good it's an indication of making more power, bad because the stock tune is lean (13.0) at peak torque and peak boost. However they may have lessened the timing at peak torque and added some at peak power to somehow save the motor. But nonetheless, I am installing the Cobb AP after I install my wideband.
Depends what time I get off, I may swing by.

You can clearly see the 2013's reaction was quicker and hear that his shifts are spot on. The powerband of the new cars are different than the previous years where it lags behind a little down below in exchange for higher mid top end. Stage 1 increases the area under the curve more and adds a tad more hp up while keeping the AFRs safer. Lol, I don't think anyone in their right mind would forget to switch to S# at the drags.

Not convinced a 15 stg1 will beat a 13 stg2. Been pulled by stg2 wrx, not the cleanest pull by me but enough to know that even if I went stage 1 and got the extra 20hp, that I still would've lost. I'm up to do runs to test out the difference of previous gen vs 15, and stg? 15 vs stock 15. Possibly not flat footing or maybe turned off the car and forgot S# when rolling in. Either way I'm still not a believer yet.

If the '15 didn't use FFS for that particular run, it could well be a tie at best. Either way, it would still be close to say that the '15 still makes more power stage to stage with the outgoing model. If not power, its beefed up chassis and subframe bushings is another factor, which improves both acceleration and handling geometry.

Here's more great news for another '15 owner that I've been following. This is a stage 1 tune and it's making well over previous model stage 1 figures. There is also another member baselining only 230-ish whp averages from different '15 cars with the same dyno, in Canada. But I think the unimpressive numbers have something to do with their fuel and altitude. For the most part, new STIs realistically make 320-340hp at the engine, but it's weird how the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times haven't changed much. But if you look back, previous USDM STIs weren't as heavy as they are now...
