got a question here

hey guys i got a question here for all u gurus, as for check engine lights, how do u find out what fault code its givin out do u need some kind of scanner or diagnostic tool or something? i gues its because i just installed a turboback exhaust system. feedback greatly appreciated.. thanx jeff

You need to either know someone with an OBD II scanner or go down to your local dealer and pull the code. Before you go to the dealer though you should get to know a mechanic well enough so that you don't get the "this voids your warranty BS" If you're in HI we could help.

hey rexstang thanks for the info. i think i know whos got a scanner i can use. well, thanks a lot . now my white hairs can stop growin hehe.. oh btw congrats on ur 12 sec run.

Just a guess, but you are probably getting Code P0420 which is a cat inefficiency warning. Ever since my Vishnu turbo back went on I've been getting them on a regular basis.

If you live in Hawaii and need the the code pulled and reset, just let me know.

nah im not from waipahu or P.C. im the silver one in ewa beach w/the jdm headlights. ive been seein a lot of em here on this side lately and they all lookin good but hope to meet some of u guys soon someday. I met jon already and he said that youre all a bunch of cool guys . so i ll see ya laterz

Hopefully my CELs will go away

When I talked to Shiv about it he said only a few people have gotten that CEL with their exhaust. Since he was getting ready to send out my reflashed ECU he said he would try changing the threshold and see if that would help.
Hopefully that does the trick for me as resetting CELs gets old.

as far as getting ur ecu reflashed did u have to send yours out or is it like a core exchange? oh yah and let me know if it works out on whats shiv gonna do so u dont have to keep resetting cause i got a cel fix on the way. hopefully that'll clear things out

They have a few extra cores so if you are willing to wait a little longer they will send you a reflashed one and then you send yours back to them.
