you guys gotta note which kumho tire you are talking about

the tirerack test was for the 712's. there are 2 kumho street tires. the 712's(tried on my old civic) and the MX's(current street tires). i've had/have both along with the yokohama es100's(had for 2 days on my s2). basically i felt that the 712's were long lasting street tires like toyo FZ4's(on the other civic). not the best for hard driving because they felt like old rubber(hard). the es100's, i will put back on when i sell the car because i am scared of sliding off the road with them. they seem super siliconish. the original bridgestone so2's (from the S) were awesome, sticky (but don't last). as for the kumho mx's. i would buy them again for any aftermarket rim i have. i would even run them on my S2. just the freaking sidewall design flamish look doesn't please me.

the azenis could be another option, but i haven't tried them and the design looks like it wouldn't like water. mehlt and etchy should have good input on those tires. b

My bad. The test was for the 712's and the MX's are a step up.

I ordered up the MX's for replacement for tires on stock wheels. Will see how well they hold up, of course they will only be used for auto-x and track days so they will last me longer. Got Michelin Pilots for the new wheels whenever they get in. Heck Porsches use em from the factory so they cant be too bad...

hey dave

any reason why you are staying with a street tire for autox and track days? your mods will eventually put you into a class where you can run whatever you can. the difference between the MX's and ecsta v700's are night and day even though i got very tiny tires. 205/45-16's. while the mx's are 225/45-17's. everyone else got the 225's for their 16's. theirs have a huge contact patch compared to mine. oh well. after i kill these, i'll get serious ones. b

Well I have had to tone down my mods as I found out that my insurance I had carried over from my last job wont be covering the pregnancy and delivery we are expecting in 2 months. So I am going to have a huge medical bill and have had to put on hold a lot of items. Gotta get my priorities straight. I also got no skills so I will figure it out on the MXs and then if I like auto-x will get more serious...

What the hell.

DiscountTire wants about $225 for shipping alone for 2 day air for some Azenis in stock size.

TireRack charged me only $60 for 2 day air for my tires in 18s.

Jesus, what a rip...

try online tires

http://www.ec-securehost.com/OnlineT...l#FalkenAZENIS

never used them, but good prices, you'll have to call to get a shipping quote.

I just might.... these are the tires that I originally wanted. Just keeping an option out for similar products (no draw backs) at a slightly less cost

What about these? Anyone have experiences or have heard anything about the Bridgestone Potenza RE730 Gen. 2

Check the reviews

at Tire Rack. Some good reviews, some bad. Most of the tires you're looking at are sold/reviewed at Tire Rack, so check the opinions of real-world users. At least there are enough reviews there to get a decent average.

Yeah... I know that people have reviewed them at tirerack but I wanted to know if anyone here locally had used these tires. Also need some quality feed back.

I got re 730s, but i think they're 1st gen. I like em ok for street, they were ok for autocross, but I over drove them at track day and chunked em up. Great in the rain, kinda noisy, but overall a good tire.

re: online tires...just read a bad bad review...NOT RECOMMENDED!!! Sorry bout that.

I think that a large number

of people that have reviewed tires might be better than a few. Ultimately everyone will have their own slant. Understand your concern for quality reviews. I have new (5 days old) Michelin Pilot Sports (225/50/16) if you wanna take a ride.

How you like em? I have 225/40-18s sitting here waiting for my wheels. Curious what you think? I was told the sidewall was pretty stiff which is what I was looking for. Of course these are just for daily driving not auto-x or track day.
