Coming also from a divorced home and have not seen my father in 11yrs just be the best dad you can be when you are with her and see her as much as humanly possible you don't want her asking her mommy how come daddy doesn't come see me from the sounds of it I don't think you'll be like that. If your daughter is around and your wife pisses you off which is gonna happen just blow up when you are by your self. Not that divorce is good at least your daughter is young and the effects won't be that bad on her..I can't say I know what you are going through but have been pretty close to it myself many times. But you have to do what is best for you.

Dom, sorry to hear about your divorce proceedings. Do you still love your wife? If "yes", don't give up! If "no", then I hope the best for you and your daughter.

man thats rough, i'm truly sorry to hear it. for what its worth, i'm 25 and my parents are getting a divorce. its been downright ugly, and has taken the better part of a year so far. i'm sorry to hear that you're having to go through that, and loose your daughter.

oh, and as an adult child of divorce, Max had some very good suggestions.

I know all about being a child of a divorce.
Both of my parents have been married three times.

I guess I'm on the same path to success.
This is my second...
first child, however.

Trust me, I don't plan on saying anything negative about Kate to my daughter. It was very agrivating when I was a kid. Luckily for me I was very aware of the truth on both sides. My sister was not as lucky. She fell for all the trash talking and acted on it. It made everything much harder growing up.

My greatest source of sadness is doing this to my daughter.
I love my daughter, she's a bundle of joy and more fun than... well.. almost more fun than my car!! <- ok not really
she's way more fun.

Greatest sound in the world is her laughing; period.

hey man if you got family support or know a good sitter. dont give full custody. try to get 50%. If she's already bonded with you(i know you've already bonded with her) you need to try for a every other day schedule or half the week or somthin like that. You dont have to give up custody unless you choose to.

Dom, I feel your pain...I really do. However, I have to be fair when I enforce certain "rules" about posting up personal things. I know we are all a family and as you say we are all you got, but I we should try to keep these things low key as possible.

I'm so sorry, Dom. I can't think of anything else proper to say. I'll be praying for you and your daughter. I'm so sorry.
