I saw either a primered or flat black wrx tonight near kahala mall. At first I thought it was just really dirty and then I got right next to him at a stoplight.

I'm not sure how I feel about flat black, on one hand I respect the racy nature of the color and the overall "sleeper" effect, but I think that the sound of a subie with an exhaust gives away the sleeper aspect.

On the other, this was a newer wrx 04+ and it did have some nice bronze wedsports on it. Might have looked better with OE paint.

Huh, if it was my car and I decided to flat black it. I would go full race with it, gut the entire interior, race seat, pull the a/c, weld the rear doors shut, pull the crash bars in the rear doors, lexan the rear windows, etc, etc. Now that would be wicked.

yeah thats my friend ian, and yes he does have wedsports. i think his car is sick.. sounds animal too.

 

Ya I heard about that guy. He actually wanted to paint his car that color. Wierd.

 

Yes, my friend Wayne in Moanaloa painted that car, if it's the same one. Never seen it though.

 

I seen it too and I think I met him before he got those rims.

He's friends with Andrew I think.

Anyways...I wonder how long that kind of paint would last.

seen this guy by pearl kai also.. i always wanted to paint my car flat black, until i saw that one here on the island, not because it wasnt nice, but because i didnt want to be "another flat black". i guess id just rather be "another obsidian black pearl" lol

yeah, i see that car around all the time too. first thing i thought of was the project car in sport compact.
