Me and my friends were reading the recent Island Previews at zippys tonight when I notice this car for sale in the island previews.....

2004 Subaru WRX STI, 5-speed, p/w/l/s/mirror, turbo timer, sunroof, spoiler, 18" rims. $413/mo

My friend called and asked If the car was still for sale......They responded "yes" And he asked if it was an STI......They said "yes".....My friend told them that STI's only come in 6 speed.....They told him to call back tomorrow....

Notice the hood scoop and front grill......

Heres another posting of the same car......The Advertisement in the island previews could have been a miss print...In this advertisement on Craigslist they say it a 6 speed and they never mention its an STI......I thought only STI's came in 6 speed in 2004???and if there trying to imply that it is an STI,look at the hood scoop size.....brake calipers....Side skirts....Its non STI....

What do you think.....Is he trying to pass off a WRX as a STI??? or is he having the biggest spell check problum???

 

looks like a wrx with the STi spoiler and fog covers to me. where's the brembos yeah? and the grill. i think someone probably traded that in, or it got repo'd and the dealer just has no idea. someone probably told them it's an STi or something. i dunno.

 

1.Viewing the side skirts it could pass for a WRX but I noticed alot of STi's in the California running painted WRX skirts.

2.For the hood scoop, cant really tell because looks kind of fuzzy but if my eyes dont deceive. I swear its an STi scoop. Reason why is because STi scoops has like a guesstimated 50 degree slant then the curves of the scoop.

3.Cant see the brembo calipers but he could have converted it from WRX calipers.Same comment also with the wing.

4. Have never seen one STi with a sunroof unless "West COAST CUSTOMS PIMPED IT"

Dude, I think the only and definitive way of determing its a STi or not is to look under the hood on the VIN id plate:>> i.e. vin 1easEJ20T or vin 1jflEJ25T. Every knows that you cant **** with the vin id plate. THats what I would do to determine

looks like it doesnt have the sti sticker on the door

 

that car is a wrx. the original owner went to kcc, and i would see that car every morning. he got the sti wing couple days after he purchased the car.

 

...or he probably converted it to the sti 6-speed tranny.

That is an OEM JDM STi front lip.

 

its a wrx..i went there myself...n take a good look at it cuz i was bout to buy another sti for my gf.. but it was jus a WRX
