you are getting the flasing CC light from the check engine light being on. Subaru made it annoying so that you would get the CE checked into and disables your cruse control.

would happen on my 05 if I triggered a CE

its hard to say but at the risk of stating the obvious its some where in your fuel system.

i would say start at something as simple as making sure the gas cap is tight (yes a gas cap will throw a cel) and work your way to the injectors.

p1420 states that you should

1.try checking your input signal for ecm.
2.check for poor contact in ecm connector
3.check harness between fuel tank pressure control solenoid valve and ecm connector.
4.check fuel tank pressure control solenoid valve

p0456 and p0457 usually indicates a leak in the fuel system like loose gas cap, gasket for fuel pump cover is damaged, fuel filler pipe packaging damage, drain valve malfunction, purge control solenoid valve malfunction, pressure control solenoid valve malfunction.

I had that on my 05 Legacy. All I did was tighten my gas cap and the code went away. i'm not sure if its the same for the STI.
