I think the factory really tightens it down. I had to use a wrench to get the oil filter off, on my first oil change.

It's probably from the factory like that like Brandon said, but don't tighten it that much when you put the new one on. Hand tight is just fine.

So you DO have the wrench then?

i always change mine when my car is still hot... i have this 'ol school theory that metal expands with heat... thus making the filter ease off like butta! plus the oil drains out like water!....
^^ not good advice by the way

I think Peter's car was put together by Sumos cause first the friggin' o2 sensor now the Oilfilter. Good luck getting your Struts off when you get your coilovers.

Talking Usually let mine cool down for an hour...

[QUOTE=gdogg]... thus making the filter ease off like butta! plus the oil drains out like water!....

^^^^^^^^^^^^
Rappa in the makin....Go Gdogg!!!

My last oil change...should of let the oil cool down a little more than I did...hot to the touch but not scalding...it does drain out much faster as Greg mentioned...

I started with Dino, then Mobil 1, now Royal Purple...not much of a noticable change...
