exhaust leak (i did a search) w/helix DP
hey...anyone who owns a helix DP....do you have exhaust leak problems comming from the DP to the mid pipe?...if so how'd u fix it?...
can anyone help me with this prob?....
and does anyone know a shop that has 3" flanges? (i tried ESH and larry's)
i was thinking just to rip off both flanges (on the DP and MP) and put brand new ones on both so they fit better...

if you are using stock mid pipe back you will have exhaust leaks. I did, so i had to have one custom frabicated to fit the 3" outlet. That solved the problem real quick.

Ditto!!!!!!
Got the same problem bro, took it to a muffler shop this weekend and the dorks wouldnt touch it without installing a cat....already burnt my bumper with the tip of the muffler....Could send it back to j-spec, but i like the catback and have found another garage to get the flange rewelded...I'll let you know how it goes...I thought it was the DP at first and they shipped me out another...installed it and same damn leak....return and buy another catback, no dual tip and pay another 150 or 200 bucks or fix the one i like.....

I have the bosal dual tip completely stainless to the catless helix down....I haven't heard any problems with the hks so I wouldnt worry about it.....I was going to return the bosal but It sounds so sick and I get so many compliments that I had to just get the connection from the helix to the bosal midpipe welded.....I have heard of some fittment probs with the helix but if you find a catback you want and the helix is the best dp hands down....work with it....believe me it's worth it......I tried to install the helix up pipe during the dp install but we hit a snag in the directions.....if you dont have the up pipe already and have the cash do bothe at the same time+ 30 wheel horsepower..just look at the directions in a past super street issue...if you want me to search for the pictured directions email me back.
