hmm...

ok...

Did you use all brand new gaskets when you installed your up pipe?

Where do you hear the leak at? Did you re-tighten everything after about a week? Copper gaskets help along with the perforated (puffy) gaskets...

I would never re-use:

a. Manifold gaskets
b. Header to Up-pipe.
c. Up-Pipe to Turbo...

I've reused the downpipe to turbo gasket many times with no leaks...

In what order did you tighten everything up?

I had major problems re-using gaskets when I swapped out my stock manifold with a header...had to dissasemble everything again, to replace the old gaskets with new...big pain.

1. First, tighten the Header to up-pipe connection...there is very little room here so just tighten them up evenly...there is no way you are going to get a torque wrench in there.

2. Second, tighten the manifold gaskets evenly. When ready, torque them down to 28 ftlbs...starting with the center nut, then working out to both ends.

3. Finally, tighten the up-pipe to turbo connection. This time start from the center and work out tightening the nuts to 26 ftlbs.

4. The downpipe gasket probably did not need replacing but I did it anyway...just tightened it evenly all around...

Hope this helps...and people, if you do not want to do a job twice, just pay the $$ and buy new gaskets prior to installing headers...especially used ones.

You may also want to check the sensor on the uppipe if you have one...sometimes it will come loose and back itself out of the bung.

Buy all new gaskets are redo everything you took off the last time.

Most folks say to change gaskets everytime you take something off.
