Does CEL FIX really work?

I am thinking of getting one because my CEL is on and i think it's because of the down pipe.

Personally, never tried the electronic O2 simulator, but i'm pretty sure it works just as well.

I've read that people recommend staying away from the electronic cel fixes and go with a mechanical one instead.

The mechanical fix works great...

I prefer this method. Prior to my APS TBE...I had a PDE downpipe...it has like a built in mechanical fix...there is like a snorkel that the O2 sensor plugs in that pulls it away from the direct flow of exhaust...an aftermarket mechanical fix does the same thing...

Just make sure it will work with your dp...on my APS, it would not fit due to the location of the O2 sensor hole...didn't need one anyhow since I have an Accessport and a Protune that gets rid of it anyhow...

+1 mechanical cel fix

ryan from vakamon made me one. was cheap and worked well after i got my down pipe before i got my AP. i personally prefer the mechanical as oppose to electrical. for my up pipe, i just plugged the hole with a drain plug and used a resistor. =) i can use high (really high) octane gas now. =) good mod.

i've tried both electronic and mechanical CEL fixes. I have tried the ones where you put it in line of your sensor (works if installed correctly) and the ones that extend you 02 senor bung. Those seem to have gotten the idea from the PDE downpipe where they have an offset sensor bung.

There is also an electronic CEL fix built into the AccesPorts programming that widens the range so that the CEL doesn't appear. None of these are 100% but they do get the job done. The best one that I've tried of course is the AccessPort since it's built in and you technically don't have to install anything.
