The plug is the same, and seeing that everything on Subaru's is just swapable, I would bet that there is a 99% change that it will work no problem.

my only question would be if its from a usdm legacy. in japan their factory stereos were mcintosh- but if i'm not mistaken they had cd/md(from the pic i believe its a cassette) . one of my friends had a jdm stereo but his radio wouldn't catch all stations(i guess the crystals are different)
if thats from a legacy other than u.s. the radio possibly might not catch all stations.

as far as the harness, it looks the same- but doesn't neccesarily mean that everything will match up.

i dunno i'll ask keith on monday

Trust me it will work, but why do you want that anyway? You can get one out of a wrx for $50 on the Forums. I have bought two for a total of $125.

Its do to the fact that they use lower radio frequencies in Japan...I think the jdm decks only go up to 91 or so....thats why they only catch a couple stations here. When I was looking at some jdm Denon and pioneer decks I heard someone makes a converter that allows them to work reasonably well

But this means absolutely nothing since the decks usdm
