You can't ignore the stinkers of the 70's though!
"Sing A Song" - Carpenters
"Muskrat Love" Captain and Tennille
"Billy Don't Be A Hero" Paper Lace
"A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock and Roll" - Donnie And Marie Osmond
"You're Having My Baby" - Paul Anka
"One Man Woman, Two Timin' Man" - Paul Anka
"Best Friend's Wife Is The Love Of My Life" - Paul Anka
My Girl Bill - Jim Stafford
UGH!
Not to mention:
We've Only Just Begun" by The Carpenters
Anything by Paul Williams,
"Disco Duck" by Rick Dees,
"Silly Love Songs" by Paul McCartney
*shiver*

It's tough to argue with the 70's. Zeppelin, The Stones, Bob Marley. Not to mention the funk and soul of James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, Roy Ayers, Angela Bofil, Barry White, John Coltrane. Their music had a certain flavor that's been missing in alot of the stuff that came after. On the other hand, that's also the same decade that produced disco.
I'll have to go with the 80's. AC/DC, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, The Clash, U2, The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, The Smiths, Run DMC, Eric B & Rakim, EPMD, BDP, Madonna, Prince. Something for everybody.

Richard, agreed that all of those were stinkers, but ....
The village people, T'Pau, anything new wave, Air Supply, Dokken.
All that proves is that both decades had their crap. I guess it just comes down to taste and where the bulk of your good memories derive from.
