Cusco broken front camber plate stud

Do you know where to get a replacement or have one lying around? Have any of you had this bolt snap on you? I read about going to lowes or home depot and just using a bolt.

Also how did you extract the broken stud. Trying to do this as clean as possible.

My brother broke it and not really wanting to make him spend big bucks on a new top hat set.

isnt it pressed into the top hat like a wheel stud? i don't see a problem with using a grade 10 nut and bolt to replace it

most top plates are the studs are pressed in

only way around is if your able to press the old one out and use a nut and washer/nut highly doubt u find the stud to replace it thats why.

most people over torque those top hat bolts on any car... they only need like 30ft lb

I agree pressed in. When we put risers on my buddy's car to raise his car, we pressed out and pressed in longer bolts.

Does it have a spline to it? I found a picture, kind of looks like a wheel stud. That's why I ask about the splines. Might be able to take a punch and put the camber plate into a vice with rubber mounts and do it. Press would probably be best and less chance of F*#$'ing it up.

I have a set of Fortune Auto 500 top hats lying around. Not sure if my studs are the same size but it might worth a try.

Good luck on it buddy.

14.5 ft-lb for those. Might be a little different for foresters *shrug*

a lot of people over tighten these. It's only to hold the suspension in place so it doesn't fall off when the car is in the air.

houdni, If you're talking about the picture I posted, it was for reference of the camber plate studs. Not mine either, just something I found on the interwebz.
