Compound forced induction on an STi.... interesting... How much power is it making, out of morbid curiosity? Looks crazy. (like something I'd do lol)

That looks nice, but is it really that functional? If you could allow the supercharger to give you that instant boost and then let a very large turbo take over on the top end it would be really cool... anyone have an info on this? I think that I have seen this before, but I am not sure where?

Theoretically, after you compress the intake air with the turbo and then cool it, the compressed charge can be further compressed by the supercharger jamming even more air into the cylinders. There was an MR2 in turbo magazine a few months back with a V6 swap dubbed a "Twin-charged MR6" that had compound forced induction. Apparently, if it's done right, it works. How cost effective and efficient it is vs a good twin turbo setup... that's another story.

...but I think largely N20 post turbo would create that same benefit at a lot less cost and eating up a lot less space than a SC. Space seems like a rarely mentioned factor in imports, where it would seem it would be so much more of a premium than on a domestic.
