with that being said...

looking at the FAQ's i found this portion:

AccessPORT 2.0: Features
2.0L Accessport and 2.5L AccessPORT
Backs up your current ECU data before installation/marriage.
Flashing process is improved to be 10x faster.
Interfaces with a PC utilizing USB.
so the people that currently have an older accessport that does NOT backup the original ECU data before installation is pretty much screwed since we get a ****ty what they think is the stock map.

looks like we'll still be able to get full price for used AP1's then

I'll be getting one because of the USB support and current/average gas mileage. other than that I dont think its worth the higher price. I also think the (virtually unlimited map storeage) is an empty feature...you dont need that many maps for one car. Now if they made it play mp3s like it looks like it should....then I'd buy one in a heartbeat

I also think the "Vibrant color graphic display with First-Ever full 260,000 color OLED, high-resolution screen" is an unneccessary price increaser

There is some shareware called "Enginuity", maybe I spelled it wrong. It has more direct access to the stock ECU and a friend in the area (computer programmer) is one of the the guys that's developing it. It's kind of link Linux, it's open source so lots of people are working on it. One of the locals here that rally races (wow, there's a thought) told me to sell my UTEC and run this software as it has more control. The only problem with it is it doesn't support multiple maps yet, so you have to load a race map as opposed to a street map (you can't switch on the fly). Of course I found out about this right after I ordered my multiple map UTEC switch. I'll let you guys know what I think about it. Several AWD dyno shops are already using it and it's FREE! For those of you that are visually impaired, it's FREE!
$700 is a lot of money for other mods.

how much is the computer you have to buy to switch the maps? I like be able to take my car to get serviced and have the ability to cut all boost and lower teh rev-limiter to 4k. I also like the ability to set fuel cut at 1k so the car wont start when its sitting somewhere not-so-safe. I agree the new AP is overpriced, but I also dont mind paying a certain price for what it offers. In my experience theres a reason free things are free...and R&D costs money which I dont mind supporting

There is no computer, you use your stock ECU. I have to post fast as I'm stealing bandwidth from a nitwit.

but once they support multiple maps it will be similar to UTEC in terms of switching? Is there any website or anything you can post for it?

Sorry,

I'm still stealing wireless.

http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p...dReflashingFAQ

My friend that actually rallly races says it's far more powerful than the UTEC. I'm keeping my UTEC for now, but will investigate this and try it out.
