Cel

Hmm got my first CEL last night after leaving the track. it happened when i was cruising about 55-60 on the freeway. dont know what caused it the car seems to run fine??? when I got home I reset the ecu i figure if there is a real fault it would come back on again. well i reconnected the battery this morning drove to work and nothing yet. well if it comes back i'll have to get the code pulled. Anyone know where i can get this done on the island? I live in mililani. thanks guys

Checkers will pull codes for free. I think?

It sounds like the low EGT cel which usually comes on when you're cruising at highway speeds. I don't remember the code. I got that cel when I was stock. If it's what I think it is, it should clear after 3 good starts.

I think Infek has access to a scanner.

Do you have an uppipe? That's actually the more common cause for the P0546 (low egt) cel and that can be fixed with the resistor mod.

P0420, rear 02 code - usually caused when cruising at freeway speeds in cool temperatures.

As Richie said it will go away after 3 successive problem free drives or when reset with an OBD-II scanner.

Thanks for the save Richard. These cel codes can get confusing.

just curious palaban you said after 3 good starts it should go away? are you talking about the cel? or the problem its self. and if the problem did go away does the cel stay on till reset??

I concur.

I meant the cel sometimes goes away after 3 starts. Infek had a scanner, but he borrowed it from someone. He may not have it anymore.

Sorry.
