Question Can u help w/ susp. Q's

Sup all i have some Q's about suspension i'm looking into getting front and rear whiteline sway bars. front is not a problem but the rear is, for a novice like myself do i want to ge a 22-26mm swaybar or should i get the 20-24mm swaybar they are both the same price but is the oversteer really gonna be that much of a difference with the 22-26mm bars. I really don't wanna be fish talling it out of turn one at the track and not know how to get myself right again, it does'nt look that hard on the video games but i couldn't imagine it in real life.

Now for my next Q's is anyone out there running whitelines Anti Lift Kit ( any of the 3 stages also comfort, sport, racing) i'm really interested in this since it is so cheap and is suppose to really help with dive when braking and to help get rid of that nasty but safe understeer. Well i appreciate any responses on this subject thanks guys.

i'm assuming that you're driving a new age WRX, so my answers are based on that.

go with the 22mm-26mm rear sway bar. the stock WRX rear bar is 21mm if i recall correctly, so it'll give you more adjustability. i have a Cusco 22-24mm adjustable, and right now it's set on 22mm. i haven't cranked it up any farther because i don't really feel that i need to with my other suspension modifications. you can experiment with the settings, and find one that suits your driving style without too much trouble. at 22mm the car isn't going to want to rotate excessively, though at 24mm+ you may find that it will. i'd start at the lowest setting and then work your way up.

i have the whiteline ALK (sport) installed, and it doesn't help at all with dive under braking -- only stiffer springs are going to help with that. what the ALK does do is allow you to exit corners better byvirtue of allowing you to get on the power harder and earlier in the turn. you'll find that it'll help the most exiting slow to medium corners while on the throttle.

ALK is gooood. I don't know which one (there was Only 1 when I bought mine), but if I had to guess, I'd say the sport one (but I'd buy the racing one).
The ALK will help with turn-in, and give a more 'postive' feel at times. It is worth the money in any case.

Honestly, I've had the ALK for a long while, but I think that the proof of what he said is only on track days and maybe autox. On a daily basis, you don't notice it.

On my very short drive home from work, I have a kinda-fun exit from H2 onto the Kam just south of Wahiawa. If there's no traffic, I'll dog it through there not so much trying to coast through the rolling turn, but trying to gradually accellerate. I'd say that is the only time I can feel any effects from that ALK.

Thumbs up

so do you think that the anti lift kit (racing) would affect ride quality, like making it more bumpy. and does anyone have any experience or heard anything good about hotchkis they have a set of sway bars front and rear bars with bushings and endlinks for 298.00 w/o shipping does that just sound to good to be true. Oh and thanks for your replys gpatmac and nolimit

I think the "racing" ones will have the stiffest bushings, and "comfort" will have just a little stiffer than stock.

thanks alot 18hrwrx for the reply i guess i'll take my chance with the racing one and see how it go s. So know one here is running the hotchkis swaybar kit or know anyone who has had it. but if anyone does have it, i would like to know how the bars handle on the track. i guess it can't be any different than any other bars other than they're hollow.
