Question buying car from mainland

if u buy a car from the mainland can u pay for it monthly or do u gotta pay full price before u get it?

Most local credit unions will only finance cars located in Hawaii. If you have that problem, you usually have to figure out financing in the states or you can take out a personal loan here. The problem is that most personal loans are at a higher rate and/or are for lower amounts ($10k). What my friend did was he took out two $10k loans locally, bought the car, shipped it over, registered it here, took out a auto loan here in HI at the lower rate and paid off both the $10k loans. The only downside aside from all the administrative work is having to pay the higher interest for the first month.
