GSP!!! he just over powered bj.. he is the complete fighter.

 

It'll be entertaining if Machida and Silva fight. Both excel with counters and can mix their attacks with a high low approach.

I predict that it'll be a slow first round to feel each others distance and speed.

 

Did anyone take notice how GSP was able to pass BJ's guard and half guard with ease? He was able to transition different body positions up top pretty much at will. He did it to other opponents, but to be able to do it against BJ, who is phenomenal at BJJ, is truly amazing.

 

yup he just kept passin his guard. he madeit seem so simple. bj just was out of gas, gsp's conditioning was solid, didnt even seem like he let up a bit.. tha superman punch was funny, right on the mark.. just thought that this fight would of been better.

 

BJ was out of gas by the second round. GSP conceded that it wasn't that BJ was out of shape it was moreso the gameplan they used taking advantage of GSP's 20 pounds of muscle advantage and his conditioning advantage. After that, I was surprised it took GSP 4 rounds...if anything, BJ's skills kept him in the octagon (not exactly in the fight) for much longer than he should've been.

The silver lining for me (a BJ Penn fan) is that he will stop the stupid talk about trying to fight much bigger guys. His skills are obviously once in a generation but they still won't equalize him against someone with 90% of his skills but 20-30 more pounds of muscle. I'm looking forward to the Florian fight.

The fight I really want to see is GSP versus Anderson Silva...that'd be awesome. GSP walks around at 187-190 anyways so it may not be that hard for him to compete with Silva...as long as he has ample time to bulk up in a way that works for him.

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I wanna see BJ fight Aoki Shinya!

I have to say it pretty awesome at hooters to watch all the BJ Penn fans who started off talk smack and booing GSP, sit down and become very silent near the end. LOL

I should have been a betting woman this weekend, i would have won!

I personally think the best fight of the night was machita and sylva. I was shocked that machita dominated sylva that much. I mean sylva looked like he was dazed half the time.

as much as I wanted gsp to win I didn't want him to win like this!!! i knew he was passing BJ's gaurd to easy no one has ever done that to BJ b4. Vasaline FTW. GSP still would of won i think but it would of been a better fight

Shaggy I agree that it is kinda sad that GSP is gonna get all caught up in this vaseline deal.

The only thing that can be debated is that Penn could've slapped that triangle on if not for the slipperyness. But it'd be hard to prove.

Its sad because he could've won without vaseline no problem.
