Cool ! I've been looking in the papers for a 240 for about 6 months now, very hard to find a 5 speed.

Peresonally, I would get the miata. And on the island they are EASY to find. I know my buddy sold his 91 or 92 with decent engine for <$2000. that gives you $5k to play with for mods. Light body, and there are TONS of uber mods (mustang 5.0 engine swap sounds nice) that have been done before. Plus, a properly prepped Miata (I know, you wanta daily driver) can do Solo 1...

there is a 91 miata in the paper for 2100 with alot of new stuff (seems like it) but it has a dent in the trunk? see the honolulu advertiser car section. b

Buying a miata is just about as hard if not harder than getting ahold of a 240, I rarely see any in the paper, and most of them are dogs... they are fun cars though, and if modded right, tey should be pretty quick at the track...

Oh by the way, if anyone knows someone who's selling a miata hardtop, give me a call,pm or post up, I can't see out of the rear plastic window of my miata...
