Even if the guy that took it is caught, he will not get into much trouble at all.

This is pretty much straight from a Hawaii sherrif's mouth:

The theif can (will) say he's driving (using) a friend's car (property).
We rarely follow up with posession of stolen property charges.

There are just too many cases and no jail space to put the guys. The system is really backed up.

Unless someone is caught in the act of stealing something, they will probably not do time.

The officer told me that even if I personally found the person that had my stolen camera, all that I could do is tell the person that it is my camera and see if they give it back. If this however results in a violent conflict, I may be charged with agravated assault. Because it would be considered premeditated. And the other guy will get off with no charges.

I love my tax dollars hard at work. haha.
Take all of my money, give it to ****heads, then still do nothing to the ****heads when they steal from me.

A cops secondary purpose is to uphold the appearance that they are doing something to keep us all safe. Cops are mainly here to write tickets and make money for the system. The system that is only in place to make a little more money for the guys on top and their friends.

Bigger government is just a way of trying to keep everyone at the working drone level.
As soon as you make a little money, the government takes it, gives a little to the lazy and useless, then keeps the rest for the people in control.

The disturbing thing is that most of us are welcoming it.
****ing liberals.

^^^^chee i love it! lets fcking riot. no seriously completely on par with my thoughts and experiences. $3000 in recons tickets (and a couple from having the misfortune of being SOBER at a DUI checkpoint) makes me really dislike police.

Talking Not givin up

If these guys are still out there, I will not give up even w/o the support the authorities. I will get over it and yes get another Subie! I am though glad that I did not get a chance to put more hard earned money into it with mods before they jacked it from me. They will have to keep lookin over their shoulders for awhile. I would be out lookin tonight but it is my boy's 5th birthday. I look forward to meetin you all even if it isnt till I visit SERVCO again for a new one. If you see this hump (or chumps) give me a holler at 808-391-2637. Thanks again for the help and encouragement!

First off, let me say I'm sorry your car was stolen.
Secondly, don't let some jackwaggons get you down.
I'll keep an eye out on eastside. There ain't too msany subies around here.

Car recovered

RECOVERED MY CAR TODAY! Got a call from HPD today on my way home from work today and they found it in Aiea in a neighborhood. Trying to keep the details on the low-down in case the culprits might be lurking online, but the investigation is ongoing and looks promising.
