This is from Ron at Axis:

Bone stock vers8 spec c heads flowed 260cfm @.400 lift on the intake and 195cfm@.400 lift on the exhaust. This was done on a superflow bench with 25" mercury. The water method might show slightly higher numbers.

This is from n2xlr8n:

I had my stock WRX heads flowed about a year ago. Here are my numbers @ 25" of H20:

Intake: 241 cfm @ .400
Exhaust: 165 cfm @ .400

As far as airflow goes, The WRX head will flow enough air to easily make 600 hp. The cams however, will not allow it. (Not to mention the shortblock grenading at this level)

From n2xlr8n's heads (stock WRX), the heads will 812 cfm.

Just to throw a number out: my turbo flows 797 cfm at 22psi. I don't think I have enough ***** to raise my boost that high (at least with my current valvetrain and pistons), so the stock WRX ports are sufficient for now.

I have money saved for one of Ron's custom Spec C heads, but if the deal goes through with a few choices of gearsets from private sellers (gimmie gears or an mrt dogbox), I'll have to improvise and order the Jun 272 cams with the stage 2 option (retainers and springs).

The set-up will run about $1,500, but I'll have to measure the lift and order custom shim-under buckets. You can pick up shim-under buckets from the dealership for about $400 or, you can order them from Ron.

The total will be about $2,000 if you do the labor yourself.

USDM Sti cams are cheap and the best bang for bucks option compared to JDM oem cam options.

You can pick them up at the dealership for about $600. This is ideal for the 2.5.

I forgot the actual duration, lift, and specs of the 2.5 cams, but they do produce more torque on the on the 2.5 block compared to the JDM cams.

Hope this helps.

Thanks dude! So, what does Ron's custom spec C head consist of? Also, what is the difference between the shim under bucket you can get from the dealership and the one you can get from Ron? I think I recall you saying the buckets from Axis are titanium, but does it make enough of a difference to justify cost difference? What red line are you looking for on your 2.5? Boy we're going to get busted from Alex.
Thanks again Chris. Gimmie a call next time you go to Mikis
