in light of recent events- regarding terrible hawaii drivers...
would it be a good idea to have a separate section labled something like - "my terrible driving experience for today..." ??

reason- today driving H-3(toward PH) set my cruise @ 62. thirty cars passed me flying by @ unknown speeds. you name it hyundais, ford vans, trucks, escorts, maximas, kias, nissan quests. i even almost got rear ended by some dude in a buick... a BUICK! So! i decided to play catch up and just see how fast these people are really going...i gas it.. in 6th mind u... by the time i am able to "pace" with traffic i was @ 82!! an a lot of people were still leaving me!

i was just wondering if a "venting" forum would be "feasible" to make here in the hawaii section- and dedicate only for traffic "incindents...?

Actually, no, I don't think it's a good idea (and I'm in no way making fun of you).

I have personally been against anyone posting anything in regards to speeding and road racing on this site from the very beginning. I too am getting irritated with all the speeding, crazy, irresponsible drivers and the even more irresponsible import drivers who think they know how to drive.

Giving a "venting" forum or thread to allow people to post their gripes is just another way for more anger and animosity to be displayed by the rest of the Hawaii group to the world. At a time where modified imports are subject to such high scrutiny by the public (especially in light of the recent traffic fatalities due to idiots racing), I do not want that to be shown by any member of the group here.

Like it or not, we should really try to be an example in the most positive way, not in the negative by crying and whining about the situation. This is why I delete all posts that talk about how "I kicked a Honda's a$$ tonight down Ala Moana" or something to that effect.

We all live on a small island and it's really difficult to avoid others on the road who speed and act recklessly. There was some guy in a busted up Ford Ranger riding my tail tonight on H-2...while his damn high beams were on. What can I do about it? Nothing. You let it go. Road rage won't help and after he passed, I'm not going to follow him and chase him down. Be mature about it and realize there are more important things in the world than the rest of the ignorant people out there. I truly believe in natural selection...if you can't figure that out, PM me.

If you want to start a post about it, go ahead. I can't stop you. But I won't make it a sticky or ask Alex to start a different forum. I know we are all friends here and we like to share cause we care, but this kind of stuff has no bearing on our Subaru community. I think before I start a special thread about that kind of thing, Alex should put an automatic spell check on the reply sections (as it seems like some people can't even freakin' spell or use capitalization properly). And thus endeth the sermon...
