Anyone know where

Anyone know where I can get my fender markers installed? I know that I can probably do them myself (which might end up happening) but I want to make sure I can do it right the first time!

Yea here is the template it is probably the same as my car here is the link for them if you want to do it your self but if oyu want some help I'll be off work for four days starting next thrusday and will get be home around 1pm on Wednesday. It took my a while because the template is smaller than the hole actually needs to be so you don't have a huge hole. Just let em know I got everything we'll need.

I know it is for a STI but I'll bet that the template will line up just the same. I measured mine when I was done and both are the same distance from the top of the fender and same distance away from door and fender seam.

looks great! I hope that there wasn't any problem with denting of the fender flare...etc. are they the same distance on the left and the right?

No denting and they both are the same distance on each one.

Actually... I have no idea, but the way I see it, it's a safety measure that I'm taking... the more blinking lights I have on my car the better hehehe

It must be since the audi's and vw's have them on their cars...

the ones on jerimiahs car have amber lights inside them

I'm sure they're legal to have on the car if they came like that from the OEM (like a Supra or STi's spoiler) - but I doubt they're 100% acceptable as a retrofit... But then again we like to push it a bit don't we?

The reason I ask is I got hassled regarding my recon at a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday night and I'm pretty irked about the whole situation...

I doubt a cop will say something seein that they only come on when you signal for a turn.. And I said "they" turned out just fine they both look the same. My 01RS had them in almost the same spot if they don't like it then them I have less than a year left here. And if I am not doing anything wrong that they see I doubt that they would pull me over for them alone. If I was stationed over in the UK and bought a STI then brought the car here they would already be on the car. So I'm not concerned..And them for bothering you just hope you were'nt doing anything wrong....

They have to have a DOT label on them to be considered legal for use. So if you get one from a S2k or something it will be fine. Older Suby's came with sidemarkers so the cops may blow it off. But if your car looks like a 'sport compact' they will likely give you a hard time.

I remember my friend tried to get recon for his M3 and they would not let him use his OEM sidemarkers that were on it stock because it didn't have the DOT marking on them. That was what he told me but I have a feeling that he had some clear ones or something cause I doubt that they would not have the DOT label on them.
