From my experience PnP the turbo and wastgate to prevent boost creep does not work. Your best bet is either to get a something better than the VF39, EM or a good Electronic boost controller. Justin had the most control of his VF39's boost creep after he PnP his vf39 and got the SBC-ID III. But when he put my PnP VF 30 and the VF22 on his car he had no Boost creep issues at all.

I really haven't heard of many of the "boost creep" issues on Hawaii. Most of them are in completely different climates than you are in. Throw the TB on and go from there. I really, really doubt that you will have any problems. Remember that you will get a check engine light from the 02 sensor eventually.

What year car? model? I have a 04 STI and had a turbo back and had no problems. I would worry about it if you experience boost creep but you might not get it.

I read there's boost creep issue for the STi in the mainland, but I haven't anything in HI. I envy you. BTW, what turboback did you get?

Ok boost creep does not just happen in the mainland!? if it didn't happen in Hawaii why do you think that me and justin did a whole lotta research trying to figure out how to prevent it? But i have to aggre w/ J. that it doesn't happen to everyone cause of cretain turbo backs.

Get a PDE DP and you won't have boost creep. It seems that the DP's with the really big bellmouth designs are causing boost creep.

I really don't see what's bad about boost creep, unless you hit fuel cut. A few extra PSI does an engine good!

Nice. I don't think it would be a problem as ur daily driver. I don't think you'll drive your car hard on a regular basis. Even with a PnP, you will still need engine management (custom tune) in order to run probably. Old school peeps, correct me if I'm wrong.

The boost creep is caused by the large opening in the DP's everybody thinks that is good and it is not. The opening does not need to be that large to be efficent espically on a otherwise stock car. The PDE DP or those like it do not have such a large opening or DP's that have a divorced wastegate should also be fine. But what do I know.

YES!!! The key here is proper engine management! My boost pressure is under complete control with my piggyback ECU, Its can be tuned to run with modest boost increase - to 16lbs as well as running up to 18lbs of boost on the stock turbo on higher octane fuel. The key is to be able to control the wastegate properly! I would suggest that you get a boost gauge first before thinking bout messing with your turbo, then get a good engine management system.
