Any Suggestions??

Ok I have a hard time clearing my AC line(I mean the entire line) with my new strut tower bar that I bought a while ago. I was just wondering if any had any suggestions in how to clear it without any mod..I pushed it back and it cleared but the thought of pressure on the AC line being bent back doesnt quite flow with me!!

Thanks,
walter

you can lower your a/c line by unscrewing the two bolts that is holding up the line on the right side... and just use one bolt (the lower one) to hold the line.

I did that and the right side is cleared but the left side of the ac line is making contact with the strut bar and when I bent it back, I was afraid that the ac line might break due to stress on the ac line from bending in an awkward position.. Any other thought to clear the left side??

In addition to previously provided advise, I'd suggest utilizing some zip ties. Use a a few zip ties and let the "head" of the zip tie act as a "spacer" to prevent metal to metal contact.

The line is aluminum, it's sorta pliable but don't over bend it. It's ok to bend the right side down a little.

Yeah that A/C line is super weak... any metal to metal contact and vibration will create a nice small hole...

Hey Walter,

Jimi helped me fabricate a bracket to lower the AC line when we put my Cusco front strutbar on...His came with the bracket since he got his new...mine, being used did not...since he knew what it looked like, we just copied it...

I really don't like the idea of putting just a ziptie on. If you see no other alternative, you may want to go down to the local Hardware store and pick up some rubber tubing/hose material to fit over the aluminum pipe area you are concerned about...It will give you more peace of mind...than just a small piece of plastic that will eventually slip or move...

I had an issue with my exhaust bumping on my rear swaybar while going over speed bumps or uneven pavement...

I measured the approximate diameter of my bar, went to the local City Mill, bought like 6" of the rubber hose, cut it lengthwise and slipped it on the sway bar where the exhaust and bar met...no more clanging...it's very quiet now...I used two band clamps to secure it in place...in your situation...maybe zipties on both ends would be the wiser to hold it in place...

Good luck.

My zip tie solution is five years old and has never slipped or broken. I also wrapped the line with metallic thermal tape to keep the line cold before I did the zip ties. You could utilize some plastic split housing like car stereo installers use. Pretty strut bar.
