Am I the only one in the world that......
The WRX/STi isn't exactly pretty either. I actually like the previous generation Elise more than the current one. Personally, I prioritize a car's performance and functionality over its looks (to a point).
I was at a track day and there was a 1st gen Elise and a 340R. They was ripping through Pacific Raceways like no other. Unfortunately, the Elise lost it in Turn 1 and was totalled. Driver was ok.
This is what a 340R looks like. Now that is ugly.

Has anyone ever heard about the type of maintenance required for most Lotuses?
Some of the stories I have heard about fixing those cars are very interesting to say the least.

The US Elise has the Toyota Celica GT-S motor so maintenance and repair to it will be both cheap and easy. However, the chassis is full monocoque, the body FRP, and the suspension is all SLA tubular with rod ends. This is really good for racing but is $$$ to replace if you wreck.
