Actual Factual 2005 Mustang Specs/Photos from Hot Rod

I'm really not sure what to think. I LOVED the concept car - this one I think is... UGLY. I really like the gauge cluster and the adjustable lighting though. Sigh. The N/A 300hp/300lbft is kinda nice too.

Maybe it needs to grow one me... Or maybe I need to see what the Cobra is going to look like.

Ha ha. Vtec this!

What is Ford so sensitive about?

Pretty respectable numbers.

I think it's Hot Rod being sensitive - not Ford.

well, the sides look Very familiar! I think they should've changed them a bit more to match the new front and rear. I think I still like it, .... and yes, ... what will the Cobra look like?

the gauges are definitely better than most Ford's!!

and a recommended 87 octane?!?

on that note too, ...... the 'technology' they are talking about is anything but new. And it's funny how they seem claim what Ford is using is better than Vtec ... ? How do they figure?? Vtec IS and actuall larger cam profile along with timing changes, ... while what Ford uses is only changing cam timing.
Nissan has used that for years.

peak hp is made at 6000rpm. i like. typical domestic owners might not like since they will have to floor it to 6k to make peak hp instead of 3k.(joke...kinda) imagine a scca mustang trying to keep rpm's up around 6k through the track..... that would sound awesome.

looks like a combination of runner length changes like GSR's combined with the newer i-vtec adjusting the camshafts timing(not profile)

so how long til a apexi mustang comes out? they can now take advantage of the vtec controller....or how about a spoon vtec controller?

b

ps. i am mustang ignorant, i have only driven a 93? GT less than 20 times and autox'ed a GT 2 times.

I thought the concept was hot. But of course ford has to make the production version look like a piece of ****.
