I cut the radiator support beams on the STI out so it would be that much easier to remove the engine. the frame on the STI had been t-boned on the passenger side and the car is pretty much toast that is why i am just hacking the frame.

Day 8

-removed dash, center console, entire harness, AC and heater core, steering wheel, and dash beam from GC

-re-installed GC dash beam and steering wheel (so i can steer the car)

-pulled the old GC carpet out (unfortunately found some light rust) the rust was primarily under the trunk release and under the dead pedal cover. thankfully it was not as bad as under the battery tray.

-treated rust and painted it with POR 15

-installed STI parking brake handle

-installed STI ecu (for ****s and giggles but more for to secure it)

tomorrow will probably be a bad day. the GC is getting painted and probably wont be back till late afternoon.

Nice job! I was contemplating on painting mine too but my project is already over budget so I decided just to clean the bay out and not paint, lucky for me no rust.

originally I was going to just rattle can the engine bay but a buddy of mine (who owns the paint shop) wanted a set of rims I got for sale so we worked out a deal. in the end both of us were happy.
