250 dollar physics lesson. Bent Cam

Ok, so just about everyone knows about my Cam install/ timing belt tensioner braking experience. Here's what you guys don't know that is very upsetting.

Day one: removed stock and installed NEW COBB cams. Finished AFTER the auto hobby shop closed in the driveway. Fired car up for a 15 min cam break-in... sounded like crap because I did a poor job with the valve lash. Shut it down, pushed it to parking spot.

Day two 7am: In dirt parking lot, reset all my valve clearances. 815am started car for cam break-in. SOUNDED SWEET. Completed break-in and drove car home.
900am Car is running awesome! Just before pulling into my driveway a really loud screaming sound and smoke from under the hood. Pull into driveway, shut it down. Pop off covers to reveal the tensioner's pulley bearings fell out.
11am Car is towed to Subaru.

Wednesday (week and a half later) I pick up my car from Schuman on Beretania to conclude the worst service experience ever. Turn the car on and KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK. Now I'm very pissed because I just got the car from a service place and it's all screwed up.

Thursday Knocking is intermittent but VERY LOUD. SO I begin to take the car in. CEL is flashing so I pull over and pop hood. Trying to place the sound I pull off the inspection plug in the cover. I notice my cam gear is wobbling around so I touch it. Sound goes away.

Friday Subaru says my cam is bent.

Yes ladies and gents, MY CAM IS BENT.

The tensioner put a huge load on the cam when it broke and caused the cam to bend under the strain.

Cobb says 250 for a new cam, but I have to get a good stock cam to send them for rework.

Can I change my name to 1hrCam?

look at this drawing.

Picture the tensioner trying to stop the belt, but the engine keeps running. The drive gear on the crank will pull the belt around the passenger side cam but with MUCH more tension. This is what happened. Now I have a bent cam.
