run about 15-25 miles a day. depending on how many times I go driving on post during work day. maybe 1-2x a month (at the most) go to town.

If you're looking for comfort, go for the one with softer sidewalls... all the ones with tons of grip have extremely stiff sidewalls...

Without a drop, I'd personally probably go with a 235/45/17 to fill the wheel gap a bit more. With the drop (although the drop is still pretty minimal), a smaller sidewall will probably look better. The 235/45 will give you more ride comfort, but the 245/40 will give you better response. In the end, it's up to you. Between the 2 sizes though, the price difference is so minor, so don't let price affect the right tire size choice. You're really only looking at like $50 or so when you compare the same tire is those 2 sizes.

I just bought a new set of tires for my LS430 and went with Hankook V12 Evo's again. I had them on Leila's Forester (and now on mine) for over 3 years and 25k miles. They still look to have at least 50%-60% tread left. They're a comfortable tire, quiet, and have decent tread life too. They also perform likely as good as you'll ever really need (at least according to your goals). All around, they're one of the best tires I've run. Understand that I'm not a big performance guy, so my goals are likely very similar to yours.

On a side note, I was also considering the General G-Max AS-03. Not quite as popular as the Hankooks, but they've got good reviews, are cheaper, and better tread life. In the end, as long as you're not running like Sunny's or Triangle tires, you should be fine. Get a good alignment and you should get lots of miles out of what ever you decide on

These might be a great deal for you. Not sure what shipping is like, but reviews are great and the tire is somewhat cheap. Sumitomo HTR Z III

nothing on there.... ended up going with the tires I had... couldn't come to spend 600+ for some new tires while these still have 40k + on them left... little stretched, but not nearly as much as I thought. overall satisfied with the results + 600 more in my pocket! I will def go to ur boy next time I decide to go with tire swapping
