2009 wrx or 2009/10 mazdaspeed 3?

On the question of what car you're going to get, let me ask this, aren't you roughly buying the same car more or less that what you currently have? I mean if you already have the 04 and are keeping it why would you want to get something so similar but just newer? Argument can even be made if you're getting the MS3...it is in the same ballpark as your current car.
Is this second car your commuter or your new fun car? If its a commuter I would get a NA version of either...or the small SUV versions of either (Forester, CX7, etc.). That way you have one car that is great for daily driving and one that's fun but not so great for DD.

thanks Blake!! I would live to help ya but I'm in Cali on vacation and won't be back to work till the 24th.
Personaly I would go for the 09 wrx. Resale if you ever plan on selling it will be much stronger then the MS3. But if you just want a car fir gas and to be cheap then a turbo car may not be the way u wanna look. But in the end it is your money do what will make u happy

I own a 2008.5 MS3 and it is a fun car to drive. It is FWD so the torque steer can sometimes get bothersome. I owned a 2002 WRX with Cobb stage 2 previously and would say the power is very comparable. I use it as my daily driver and it makes the commute more interesting. I plan to add a CAI as the only power mod. From the dynos and reviews, it should add ~20HP. I didn't think it would gain that much since my old WRX didn't benefit from a CAI. If you're looking to heavily mod your next car, you should get the WRX. It has more potential and a better aftermarket for performance parts. I purchased my MS3 for 18.7K. You can probably get a deal on a 2008.5 also, if any area available in HI. 2009's have come down in price also. I'm not fond of the looks of the 2010 MS3. It looks too happy.
Has Subaru fixed the engine issues reported on 09's?
