Dave,

I didn't think you came to the trax.

I was going to stop buy the BSM area to see if my Sergeant Major was there. He said he was gonna bring his boss on Friday and run his car w/ new tranny, but since it got rained out, I hoped he'd be there last night.

LOL, a lot of people nowadays think I don't go to the tracks much. Fact is, I've been going since I was 8. Helped organize the first & 2nd Fastest Streetcar Shootout (When Hypersports was hooking it up), was one of the trainers when HRP was doing the drag racing classes a while back....been around the scene a lot before I got into golf, work, grappling, etc....now I got too little time for HRP every weekend, and I'd rather take the $8 I'd spend every Fri & Sat and put it towards my Z06. For over 2 years, I was there every single fri & sat...not anymore. I was down in the pits, baselined my Z. I don't really hang with the BSM crowd, though they are friends of mine.

Sorry. I think I was making a big assumption based on it seeming like a lot of the BSM'ers are regular posters on your website. I read there once where you said you didn't go much anymore, so I assumed, hey just because a guy is a car lover, there is a lot more things that an enthusiast can do besides drag racing.

No problem at all. Some of our members are reps for BSM, and Bode is a friend of mine. I wish I had more time to get out to the track, but one of the things (for me anyway) about being able to afford my toys, means I don't always get to have my cake & eat it too. Besides, this car scene gets old sometimes and I need a break from the monotony...hence the golf, MMA, fishing, etc...

I saw a silver Suby wagon last night....was that you?

That was me. Well away from what the car has done in the past.

When I go out for now on, I'll keep an eye out for you, though.

Dave,

Where do you train MMA? I need to find a hobby other than spending my life savings and annual income on my car.

I train with my cousin-Kelly Matsukawa. I would recommend HMC or Grappling Unlimited. Both offer good programs. I used to train w/Relson, but the grappling got too 1 dimensional, so I got into Vale Tudo & to a limited extent, some pankration. I recently injured my neck in a weekend match and decided to tae a break and get my golf swing in shape.....that's good therapy too.
