Actually the EaU13 or is it EaU013 amsoil oil filter has a synthetic media inside. the 12 is what amsoil says should be on the car but the 13 is roughly a half a inch longer than the 12 and the stock subaru filter.

I use the number 13 amsoil filter, 10w30 amsoil oil, magnetic oil drain plug car is over stage 2 with 95,000 miles still runs smooth. O and i do oil changes every 5000 to 7500 miles.

Yeah, I noticed the Eauo12 filters were tiny compared to the subie oem filters, I'll have to check out the 13.

Damn, just remembered that I have to have the Subie dealer do up my oil changes for awhile. Last time, SOA could have almost not honored the warranty because I had no record of any maintenance being done. Even though I did my own oil changes 3 times within the first 7800 miles before the motor went, knock, knock.

Figured I would just wait till like 20k on the second motor till I will switch over to 5or10W30 with the EaO13 filter, although my engine sounds horrible everytime I drive it, but the dealer can find nothing wrong with it.

Also, was reading somewhere about Subie filter not having the Anti-Drainback. Is the AMSoil EaO12 and 13 missing that too? When you look at the inside of the Ams filters, it looks like just a paper media and thats it.
