All 2.5 turbo.. only turbo models might have a possible recall. Engine knocking sound complaints. All turbo 08 models will be temporarily put to a halt till the investigation is done.

It won't change my buying decision at all but it will make it harder to buy if they are clamping supply.

I asked the dealer yesterday and he showed me the letter, wouldn't let me take it, but it said they were to stop selling any 2.5L turbo models, including impreza, forester and others because of engine knocking sound.

 

Yep like Suby said. I saw the same letter when I was at the dealership today for my oilchange. Its still under investigation appearantly and even they dont have much detail. Its a very brief letter saying which models should be put to a haul. Nothing is certain about the recall, like I said theyre still investigating it.

I own a 08 and know other people who own 08's too but have yet to hear this sound.

 

Thats all bad, hopefully its limited to the 08's. Sti's too ?

 

2008 STI=2008 2.5L turbo engine, so yes. And I imagine it'll be "limited" to the 08's....I doubt subaru would put out another model year without fixing the problem
