I dynod my XT yesterday. It put down 174 AWHP on the Dyno Dynamics dyno at Vishnu Performance. 210 HP my ***. . . This thing's putting out at least 230-240 at the crank. I forgot to grab the printouts. I'll try to get them to send them to me or post it online.
We noticed some very interesting anomalies. The XT appears to run in closed-loop fueling mode until boost tapering begins (4200RPM or so). If it's not in closed loop mode, the maps are REEEALY lean. Of course this isn't a big deal as the boost PEAKED at 10.5psi and dropped to 5psi at around 4500RPM. I'll try to get the boost/AFR graph as well as the HP/tq. I think it's a lot more interesting than the power output.

Forester XT Mods
Do you guys know of anyone, other than Cobb Tuning, making any power mods for the XT?
Would be nice to have atleast a chip, intake, uppipe and exhaust components for the XT...
Thanks.

Unless things have changed in the last couple of weeks, nobody has cracked the factory ECU code in the STI/XT so you won't see any reflashes on the market yet. See if you can get a vendor to let you try out/test fit an exhaust.JD
Enthusiasts...
Well, I guess you are happy with 210 hp.
A Turbo car is technically much easier to Mod than a NA car. It also responds better to modifications than NA automobiles.
Enthusiasts, such as myself, prefer 40-50% more power compared to stock...
I guess it is a matter of preference.
Every single factory turbo vehicle out there has numerous go-fast mods available. I hope Forester is no exception.
Cheers!

It has been pretty well established (according to dyno runs) that the stock XT's 210HP rating is understated. It actually is producing more like 240-250BHP. A 50% increase above that would mean about 370 HP - in a 3200-pound car.
The stock XT already gets to 60 in 5.3 seconds and the quarter-mile in 13.8 at 97 (per C&D). That's faster than probably 99.9% of all cars on the road. I have no idea why I would ever need 370 HP in this vehicle.

I've done a few minor things to improve power. But to be honest, till I do (more) suspension and brake improvements I don't think it needs more power.
How about 300HP Crank
Would it be too much to ask for 300 crank HP?!
If stock is 240hp, just a E/MBC + Intake + Exhaust should get you to that level easy...correct?
TurboXS has these inexpensive boost controllers for SRT-4
"How does +30 wheel HP for $129 sound?"

Interesting...

That's for an SRT-4. Peruse the Engine Management forum and discover that the Subaru turbo flat four is a different animal with different requirements.
Here's a post on intakes.
