Will I have a MAF issue with a CAI?
The car is a '97 Legacy with the EJ25. I'm just going to fabricate a 2.5" section of piping to the fender. But I hear all these stories about the MAF being picky and leaning you out to dangerous levels. Is this something I have to worry about?

The only thing you really need to worry about is keeping the sensor clean so it doesn't go out. Some MAF sensors would just stop working, but I have ran two different CAI's and I haven't had any problems ever. Once I even forgot to put the filter back in and drove it around for a day. I have a 99' 2.5L, which I think is the 2nd gen. of that engine, but I don't think they switched the MAF sensor because they started using MAP sensors in 2000.
