Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Welding an exhaust crack?

So, I found a stromung axle back for cheap but it's cracked where the 2.25" piping comes into the mufler. Can that be welded easily for a good fix or is it not worth it. I plan on keeping the exhaust for a long time so is it fixable? Thanks for any input.

If you would like I can weld it up for you if you live near me.

But if its cracked it could be from a couple of things. Poor design like not using strong enough materials or reinforcements. Damage like bottoming out on something or impact. Or it could be corrosion (like rust if its not SS) and this is the one that makes it tricky, because most of the time by the time you see a crack its just the beginning. But if its one of the first two bring it by and I can weld it up for you, PM me if your interested.

Hey thanks for the input. It's a Stromung so it's definately SS. I'm a decent welder and have a full shop for it. Thank you for the offer. Im new to the exhaust scene so I wasn't sure if it could be done
