Engine/Power - non turbo (All non turbo Imprezas) Who needs a turbo when you have 2500cc? Cams, intakes, exhausts, etc. The 2.2L and 1.8L Subies are cool too.

Weapon-R or Cobb Intake?

Should I buy the Weapon-R or Cobb Intake?

Which is better for our cars?

If you are N/A the Cobb is the hands down winner on most of the forums. Real good rep and many satisfied customers. This is not a biased opinion BTW as I have chosen the modified OEM box with an aftermarket drop in.

Well I have heard great things about the weapon-r as well. Not to mention it being $100 cheaper. It has the dual stage piping that worked wonders with my brothers honda prelude.

Does anyone have it installed on yours?

Also I was wondering if it made a big difference in exhaust tones and gas mileage?

Well I have the Weapon-R on my 06, I'm pretty happy with it. Good fitment, but BAD directions...I'll post some pics of my install. Someome else has some up I believe in the 06 Mod thread. As far as improvements...I dont think there's any gas mileage change, depends on how you drive. Under full throttle, it is really loud, but it sounds good. As far as the exhaust goes I have an 04 STI Axelback and I think it might be a little louder with the intake.

The Weapon-R is nice, I've heard nothing but good things with the Cobb also.

Thumbs up for Weapon-R

Stick with the COBB Intake. . .in my opinion. . .use a drop in filter.

Took these pics tonight. I went back and made some changes a few weeks ago after I saw another intake. It ends up having good fitment, buying through Rallitek was a good experience. They don't list the 06 anymore though.

Yes... you can find them on ebay and a few performance sites.

As of right now, besides the cobb, it seems to be the only prevailing company for the 2.5rs intakes.

I've got the Injen and I love it.

But back on topic, isn't this really a question of CAI vs Short Air?

Not really. Its Cobbs unique system versus the unique weapon r system.

Yeah but the weapon r has a two stage tubin system making two different flows of air through the intake, and the cobb system is very unique in its setup and does not work the same as your normal cai located near the front bumper.

Maybe I will just go with the weapon-r, because money is a issue right now, plus they sound great.
