Valve clatter
My 93 Impreza L with N/A 1.8 liter just started a hellish clatter from some or all of the valves on the passenger side bank of cylinders. I just got done removing the oil pump and redoing the seal and gasket as well as replacing the timing belt and a couple of covers. I had the timing off at first but then got it to where it seemed to run as it did prior to the work. It then ran for around 4 days or so and then the other night when I started it the valve clatter was there. It does not go away after it is warm.
I have searched for this problem and I see lots of things that don't seem to be the same problem. I changed the filter thinking maybe it caught something and that was limiting flow of oil. When that didn't do it I did the auto tranny fluid engine flush described on here as well as other forums. Nothing has changed anything... Any ideas? Thanx.

Well ladies and fellas... this seems to have worked itself out. Last night it either fixed itself completely or at the least it's much better. She almost sounds like she used to again. I don't think I'm too worried about it anymore. Thanx tho!
